From the point of view of the materials and production processes, one of the cornerstones of the company is sustainability: for the former, Tapis Rouge prefers recyclable and biodegradable raw materials and uses only natural yarns such as wool, silk, bamboo, and hemp. Excluding synthetic yarns and plastic materials. The same attention is also paid to the manufacturing techniques, since each carpet is knotted, washed, and cut by hand with the help of eco-sustainable tools. Which make the most of artisan skills and at the same time minimize the impact of production on the environment.

This production approach is not only sustainable but thanks to the high-level manual skills it allows you to create custom-made rugs of any shape, size, and color, choosing from the approximately 2500 options of the proposed palette. The work of the designers involved in the elaboration of the collections is part of this variety, which takes place starting from an infinite series of sources of inspiration ranging from works of art to natural scenarios. The idea translates into a series of sketches and then condenses into a map that includes drawings, colors, materials, and possible shapes, without neglecting any aspect.

Authenticity and variety are the dominant features of these collections in which the creative personality of the designer, left free to express himself, and the artisan skill that Tapis Rouge cultivates in Nepal converge. Examples of this are the Bub and Ice carpets designed by Olga Malyeva: the inspiration is the Russian winter landscapes in Natalia Goncharova’s representations taken to the essential until they take the form of simple strokes in the glacial shades of blue, in the case of Bub and of a geometric grid in the case of Ice, surrounded by the rounded or geometric profile of the shape of the rug.

Equally astonishing but with a completely different style is the Composition VIII collection: here the inspiration is the artistic avant-gardes of the 1900s expressed with a decorative motif composed of linear strokes, overlapping colors and regular geometries. Ideal for introducing a decorative element and at the same time visual order in the environment.

The Sellero and Sonico collections are more discrete and minimal: the first, delicately austere, is characterized by a regular pattern of small dark triangles on a light background, the second, with a more informal and familiar style, has a decorative motif in bands, with small colorful and neatly arranged designs.
