In summer the table is prepared for moments of sharing and fun: from the tablecloth to the plates, from the cutlery to the accessories, here are the seasonal trends.
Also in summer the table is the protagonist of convivial moments that require attention to the smallest details. Brunches, aperitifs, outdoor dinners follow one another in the ideal holiday in which to involve friends and family.
This is the season in which, finally, we can give ourselves all the time necessary to create a perfect table, choosing each element with care. The goal is to offer guests every element they need but also an interesting setting in which to set meals, a “conversation starter”, an opportunity to talk about themselves and break the ice.
The table is all of this, which is why it is worth dedicating care to its preparation by updating your supply of textiles and crockery, just like you do with your summer wardrobe. It is no coincidence that this category is increasingly the protagonist in the collections of companies in the sector which combine functionality with a defined and surprising style.
Bitossi’s “decomposed table” revolutionized the scene
Among the most interesting innovations in recent years regarding the art of the table there is undoubtedly the project La tavola scomposta by Bitossi Home which has revolutionized the concept of tableware by drawing on the past to create the table of the future.
The idea is to deconstruct and recompose, mixing dishes with different decorations but which somehow go well together, ancient-style dishes revisited with a contemporary taste and mixed with irreverent and ironic accessories. Color is the protagonist; the decoration is eye-catching and the spirit is lively: perfect for the summer.
Serax brings prêt-à-porter to the table in collaboration with Marni
The collection launched by the fashion brand in collaboration with Serax bears the signature of Francesco Risso, creative director of Marni. The elegant irony that characterizes the Marni style returns in this collection which is expressed by making the classic floral motif of old-time dinner sets current.
It is made up of 120 elements: plates, bowls, teapots, cups and saucers of asymmetric shape on which the botanical motif is depicted in a lively but discreet palette that travels on the notes of mauve, turquoise, pink and lime. A table from times gone by with a contemporary twist.
Scandinavian style with a pop twist on Hay’s table
Color is the recurring motif of the Hay collections, the Danish brand that has made the Scandinavian style pop and lively through its furnishings and above all its kaleidoscopic accessories.
Even the table it offers is a perfect balance of essential lines and color and for the Barro collection, perfect for the summer, Hay involved the Portuguese designer Rui Pereira: the word barro translates as red clay and this is precisely the material, traditional, chosen for the plates in the collection which stand out for their consistency, rounded lines, beveled edges and colours. To complete the table, Hay also offers Ram placemats and cutlery from the MVS collection by Muller Van Severen.
A sophisticated touch with Once Milano textiles and Cutipol cutlery
Not only creativity but also elegance for those who want a table that evokes the past and choose quality design, made to last.
Elegance that is expressed first and foremost in the choice of the right tablecloth, which is made of a precious fabric such as pure linen from the Once Milano collections, in perfect balance between tradition and contemporary taste.
As well as the Cutipol cutlery with innovative lines, characterized by unexpected finishes and colours; yet, extremely discreet and sophisticated.
