The entrance is an environment to be rediscovered and enhanced through useful and sophisticated furnishings
Filter between exterior and interior, space for representation and reception, the entrance is an area that is often neglected but which instead embodies multiple functions and design implications. It is an antechamber to the living area, a wardrobe, a passageway to which one can entrust one’s last thoughts before leaving and the first ones when returning. At the entrance we prepare to face the day in the morning and we refresh ourselves in the evening when we return. And it is also the business card of the house, what determines the first and strongest impression in the eyes of those who cross our threshold, also for this reason it is right that the functional aspects are combined with formal details that make it welcoming and beautiful. So what are the elements that cannot be missing in a well-designed entrance? Countertops, wardrobes and the indispensable mirror are some of the furnishings and accessories that can help make this environment useful and sophisticated at the same time.
Pujo wall and floor coat rack by Ferm Living
The Pujo wall coat hanger by Ferm Living has an essential silhouette yet full of character, and it is also available in the floor version. Its shape is innovative compared to the classics of this category and yet, thanks to the minimalism of the structure, it fits into entrances of different styles, even small ones. It is in black powder-coated metal with a wooden sphere that makes it even more versatile and functional as well as defining its style.
Much more than a coat hanger, Sciangai is an icon of 1970s Italian design. Designed by De Pas, D’Urbino and Lomazzi, awarded the Compasso d’Oro in 1979, it is a small work of engineering in which the elements are connected to each other and the precision of the proportions makes it possible to achieve perfect balance. Each element is in fact a support for clothes and at the same time a support for itself and the various finishes available make it extremely versatile.
Parentesi is a coat hanger niche that can be oriented to hide coats and accessories. Voted to the visual order, it consists of an elegant padded shell covered in fabric, a rod for hangers and a practical shelf for bags. The geometric shape narrows upwards, giving momentum and elegance to the structure which, offered in different colors, easily finds space in entrances of various styles.
Michelle is a particular mirror, ideal for the entrance. On the wall, it has a generous oval shape and a very important detail: a small shelf in very elegant marble on which to store keys or other small accessories that we need at the entrance. The frame is in satin black metal and the reflective surface can also be in smoked glass.
Another wall mirror with a particular design is Verto which embodies a double soul: a perfectly reflective functional element is also a work of art on the wall that completes and makes the entrance environment sophisticated. Both in the round version and in the larger, full-height, oval version.
The formal details make the mirror of the IOI collection by the GamFratesi studio for Gubi sculptural and elegant. The structure is characterized by a vague Art Deco inspiration which translates, in particular, into the linear shape of the two tubulars joined by a small brass sphere. An invitation to dwell on the discreet and elegant details of the object.
Not just a mirror but also a countertop: Recibidor is a perfect hall furniture. It has an essential aspect but its almost organic and irregular shapes give it elegance and a creative spirit. As well as the composition of materials: walnut wood and polished brass.
A console table is the ideal solution to have a compact surface that can furnish a wall with discreet elegance. Darling Point by YabuPushelberg studio for Man of Parts perfectly fulfills this function thanks to the geometric and sculptural lines and the precious brass details.
