The comfort of the bed can be declined through different finishes, each with its own style and elegance
Comfortable, first, but not only: the bed is an indispensable piece of furniture, whose design is linked to function but can indulge in elegant design virtuosity and precious finishes, thanks to a careful selection and variation of materials. These are interventions aimed at combining beauty and comfort, inviting you to relax and immerse yourself in an experience of beauty and quality. Rest surrounded by refined materials is a small daily luxury that is worth indulging in. After all, the bedroom can be imagined as a personal living room and designed by identifying formal combinations and discreet materials with the aim of creating a fluid and welcoming whole, functional and beautiful to live in. The leitmotif of choice is, therefore, the material that spreads from the bed to the whole environment, material that the user will feel as akin and reassuring, perfect for welcoming his rest.
Gregory by Antonio Citterio for Flexform
The generous padding of the headboard invites you to rest but also satisfies the eye, and it is not the only detail that makes Gregory (on the cover) an elegant bed, in which leather and metal are the materials of choice. The structure, in fact, is in die-cast aluminum and is made more elegant and graceful by a series of leather bands in three possible colors: tobacco, dark brown and black. A discreet stylistic choice with a sartorial aesthetic.
Solid wood makes the Alcova bed by Maxalto an excellent contemporary version of the canopy bed. The first striking element is that the bed is made up of a platform with canopy on which a sommier rests, in a discreet combination of wood and fabric (or leather) which makes the whole sculptural and comfortable, also perfect to be placed in the center of a room.
Edoardo by Andrea Parisio for Meridiani
Details of discreet and enveloping elegance: Andrea Parisio proposes for this bed, three types of headboards, each devoted, in a different way, to tailoring and comfort.
It can be a leather weave, or a padded and fabric-covered headboard, outlined by a profile that in the third version is made even more interesting by a thin flat ruffle.
Grand Mellow by Formstelle for Zeitraum
Wood is the absolute protagonist of this bed with an essential structure, characterized by oblique feet that evoke a 60s aesthetic and a headboard created with a series of leather bands to support the two generous cushions, covered in fabric, which offer visual softness and ease of use.
Hästens is a Swedish company that has been carrying out design research devoted to well-being for years, combining it with a stylistic approach that characterizes it, in which the vichy pattern in blue recurs. The top models, Hästens, 2000t, Vividus, Marquis, are made of natural materials, by hand. And so, the frame is in solid Swedish pine and the padding is in cotton, wool, linen. A natural nest to rest on.
Air bed by Daniele Lago for Lago
Tempered glass can also be the material of choice for a bed: it is the bet, won, by Daniele Lago who, with the Air collection, has brought visual lightness to the sleeping area as well. The bed, suspended on four crystal legs, seems to float and the effect can be amplified by inserting an optional light in the lower part of the structure.
Twelve a.m. by Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu for Molteni & C
The alternation of precious materials gives a special rhythm to this sublime project by the Neri & Hu studio for Molteni & C. The wooden headboard surrounds and embraces the head area and is padded and upholstered in fabric or leather with an additional cushion to make it even more comfortable and visually satisfying. And it is supported by two leather straps that make it gritty and captivating.
Volare Due by Roberto Lazzeroni for Poltrona Frau
Volare Due is a symphony of precious essences of wood and leather: the structure is in solid ash, the bed frame is in toulipier wood covered in Saddle Extra leather or Pelle Frau® leather. The headboard is also covered in leather and the structure is in birch plywood. The result is a cozy and sophisticated bed.
